Based on China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), the Research Center for Beijing International Exchanges and Foreign Affairs Administration was established in 2005 jointly by Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science and Beijing Municipal Commission of Education. It is a think tank dedicated to advancing and enriching the study and practice of Beijing global engagement and exchanges.
The Center’s Mission
With in-depth researches, policy recommendations, and analysis on a full range of issues facing Beijing international development, it seeks to provide strategic insights and policy initiatives for Beijing decision makers.
The Center’s Research
The Center covers over 20 research fellows composed of professors from CFAU and a network affiliated leading experts in government and academia. Their research priorities include:
·International relations and Chinese diplomacy;
·City diplomacy and global governance;
·Beijing foreign affairs administration;
·Laws and regulations concerning foreign affairs
·City branding and cultural relations
Since 2006, the Center has produced annual reports on Chinese diplomacy and Beijing international exchanges.
